So most of us, particularly with heavier motors, raise the rear of the bus by inserting spacers above the springs. While this works it does lead to a bumpier, harsher ride. The length of the rear suspension drop is governed by the shocks and it would be great to lengthen the drop an inch or so to gain the original tractability of the independant suspension.

In the UK it seems quite a few people use the Discovery II shock which fits fairly easily, gives about 2 more inches of travel and seems close enough to specs in terms of vehicle weight, rebound etc. certainly close enough on a loaded Syncro.

Has anyone tried these or other shocks successfully?
Yes it is important to have longer shocks if you raise the suspension. I haven't used the Disco 2 shocks but I have checked them out and they will work ok.

Cool thanks Ian, any other suggestions you have tried or come across?
