Lesotho 3 passes- Bookings closed - syncromad - 06-21-2014 08:31 AM

Hi all

I am doing a trip to Lesotho for syncro owners, this is not a Saamtrek. it is an adventure trip.
we will do Sani Pass, Senquyane river Pass, and Baboons pass.

the trip will be done on the following dates: wed 24 sept to sun 28 sept 2014.

the route will be basically as follows.
wed 24: meet at Cobham NR, outside Himeville KZN, approx 650km
thurs 25: Up Sani pass and down to the Senquyane River, approx 300km
fri 26: Senquyane river to Semonkong, Falls viewing and to Roma, approx 150km
Sat 27: Baboons pass, round trip and camp at Ramabantha, approx 150km
Sun 28: Ramabantha to Home, approx 650km

this is a serious 4x4 trip as per the Last Lesotho trip, Not T4 or T5 friendly.

Facilities will be better tha average at all campsites other than at the Senquyane river, There are NO Facilities there , please note this for those that need Facilities.

Cost will Be ZAR 2250-00 per vehicle with 2x Pax, extra pax at ZAR 750-00 each. this covers all acoom, Fuel and food for your own account.

Max 10x Vehicles only, no more sorry. Min vehicles to do the trip will be 6x.

Sani Pass will be tarred in the near future so this is a chance to tick that off your list before that happens, the road to the Senquyane river took 18 hours to drive 90 km last time we were there. Baboons Pass should take 6-7 hours to do, 25 km long, optional.

Payment in full to book on or before wed 16 July 2014, no late bookings, no refunds as accom will be booked and paid for in advance.

we will have a meeting about the trip a month Prior to leaving.

it is going to be a great trip, i will be going in my 16" camper, so it will not be a vehicle breaker. but note the route conditions change with each rain and snow fall in Lesotho, so nothing is guaranteed.

Those interested please reply here, i will then PM you banking details etc.

no date changes or route changes.

other vehicles also welcome on a first come/paid up, first serve Basis.

List of those going:
1) Stuart and Lindy
2) Paul
3) Enkie
4) Org
5) James Smith
6) Dirk and Linda
7) Henning
8) Charl
9) Tim and Lesley, provisional if they get Passports in time

All paid thanks, now the wait, i am really exited this is going to be an awesome trip guys.

For those that are worried about Baboons pass it is optional to do. you can drive with some one else etc,

i will be doing it in my Reimo camper, not the " thingcro" playbus, so we will take it easy.

Baboons pass is a day trip on a circular route

please reply if interested in the thread i will update the list in the first post.

will be cancelled if less than 6 vehicles respond.

thanks Stuart

Xavier we will sort out payment on the 17th, once the trip is confirmed, not counting on Tim and Lesley at this point as they are having Hassles getting new UK passports

So what's the story with Baboon's pass?

Ok, just checked it on Google - looks serious!

Chatted to a guy on Sat, he says it's easy, they did it last month, 9 vehicles 6 hours, only the last 7-8 km was hard, he said.
