Steering Shaft Coupler Disc - Nico - 10-28-2019 02:48 PM

Reading earlier today about the "disc of death" on a beach buggy facebook page, I was wondering if one has to be concerned about the steering shaft coupler discs on a T3? I believe there are two of them. So if the vehicle is over thirty years old, should one be inspecting them and replacing them or does one get fair warning? Should they fail, what are the consequences?

If it fails you wont have steering input, never seen one fail, i think ther are 2 of them on a 2wd combi, syncro only has one

i think they fail on beach buggies because the steering angle changes from the normal position to a slightly lower position, putting stress on the coupler
