My brother spotted it forsale online, I dont think there would have been much interest from it here as I doubt there is a huge fan base for syncros in Nam, I could be wrong. It is LHD and was imported from Germany new and was kept on a farm and used very rarely. Im not sure what value these Westy's would have in southern africa and i hope the price i paid for it is reasonable. Overseas they seem to be quite sought after. |

RE: Syncro westfalia Joker
Hi
Very nice find. To give you a little back ground on your vehicle. From your photos I can tell you that this vehicle left the factory as a westfalia pop top camper and the hightop was fitted at a later stage. Not a factory fitted high top. I Europe their prices vary greatly depending on seller, condition and were they are and of course how original it is. Dose it still have the under slung gass tank. It should also have an overnight heater fitted under the passenger side behind the sliding door as you have the cold climate package. This will be a petrol powered unit made by eberspacher. Your front seats are not too common and only fitted to the club joker moddle at the time. |

RE: Syncro westfalia Joker
It is also an early syncro Westy. You can tel by the cupboard door where your table stows away. Once you put your table in the storage position you can't open the cupboard. They changed the size of the door in 1986/87 so it didn't interfere with table. Some people do cut the bottom of the door and then glue it in place so the rest clears the table.
Surprised to see your waste water tank still there. This is normaly the first part that get destroyed on a syncro. |
