Just to say Howzit as a Happy "New" Syncro owner!
I would like to make use of this opportunity to say howzit to all you Syncro Lovers out there.
What a great forum this is!

I've actually joined in Nov'12 as a member, but have been a silent member till now. This has been one of the sites I've visited constantly for about 2 years in search of a Syncro. I've actually been on the phone to you a few times during this period Stuart.
Turned out - as I see it, to be a good reason for that I did not get my hands on a vehicle during this time.

The meant-to-be-found Syncro appeared in March. I went to have a look immediately after making the call and could not believe my luck. 24 Hours later the deal, paperwork and all was done and dusted.

I became only the 2nd owner of this 1989 Syncro 2.1 (stock standard) with believe it or not, only 42 600km on the clock.
First I thought something to be dodgy, but after careful inspection of all the normal ware areas, I realized it must be true.
This bus must have done a average of 1700km / year. The previous owner explained that it mostly were used for going to the golf course and carrying the beers to the beach house once a month.
Needless to say how chuffed I am.

I'm down in Blouberg, CT. I am planning to keep the Syncro as standard as possible. A couple of things I would like to do, and if anybody can advice me on it, and maybe where around CT I can get it done?

Possible to install power steering? Where?
What's the biggest size rims and tyres I can upgrade to without damaging anything machanically?
Any info on installing 3 point seat belts on the back seats?

Any advise would be appreciated. I'm also looking forward to maybe in the near future, join you guys who are usually pulling together at some events, to meet you and your awsome looking Syncros in person.

Happy Syncro Days
Eugene

Very nice one, Eugene Smile

I hope you have as many pleasant times with your bus as I have had until now. Great price, great looking Syncro, well done and welcome to the family.

Congrats Eugene, can't believe there is still such rare finds out there. Enjoy the Bus, and as stated, speak with Russel regarding all your fitments such as the p/s and even a brake upgrade once you go to that 15" wheels with some 215/80R15 rubber on. That tire size will not break your wallet or drive train.
