Bugged ECU
Can an ECU pickup a bug from a computer and then throw out haywire signals ?

RE: Bugged ECU
Never heard of this happening. Bugs are written to attack or alter specific programs.

RE: Bugged ECU
The bus runs and does not die on me anymore since we fitted the new distributer. But since then it jerks through the gears at around 2000 revs. I re-fitted the old coil and it went away. While later its back, little at first and then gets worse. Been to the spittronic tuner 3 times and every time settings are worse.

When I first went to him the bus was running fine, except it died sporadically. Since he's been tuning it, it runs poorly. Either he does not know what he is doing, or there is a fault in the program.

RE: Bugged ECU
Just fit an original ECU and wiring, way easier

RE: Bugged ECU
I know, but easier said than done with all the bastard parts on the engine. Looking for the original parts, but in the mean time just want to get the bus to sort of run OK.

RE: Bugged ECU
Seems when I fitted the new distributer cap I did not plug in one of the leads properly. Fixed it last night and no jerking when I went for a drive.

Eish ! this was a lot easier on my old boxer BMW's when there was only two cylinders to worry about.
