Re: Introduce Yourself.
Hello from Greece!

I am a Syncro freak with a Syncro camed not from Germany not even from South Africa, but from a Greek named town of Canada, Laconia, where was imported from Germany and afterwards exported in Greece! (God's will!)

So my nick name is Hellenic, (Greek), Vanagon and I am glad to meet you in the one of the two manufacturing countries of Syncro, which is South Africa!
(Is that correctly understood? Are you based in South Africa?)

I believe in God! (Of course all we know that God is a Syncro!).

Smile

Re: Introduce Yourself.
HI All

Pierre Eksteen aka Buggger Big Grin

I love my VW`s and I always wanted a Syncro and the Vrou wanted a Autovilla, Had a few that I bought and passed on but end of 2010
I crossed Paths with a Cox camper for one hell of a good deal and could not pass on the offer. Now the Wive is very happy as it is a Camper and I am happy as I got my
Awesome Syncro.
It does need a bit of TLC here and there in the 4wheel drive section but that will all get sorted in the mean while as I first have to finish the DC that Stuart has fitted a Syncro front end for me to get GRound clearance and I have got a 2wheel drive Lockable diff in the box with long 2.6 ratios. It will get a set of Pitbulls but will stay 2wheel drive with a
Turbo Power plant for Towing the Race cars around

All the best with the Forum as I have always battled with the mailing list rather give me a spanner to work with

Re: Introduce Yourself.
Hi all,

I'm Bernard Meyer. Have been and probably always will be a VW nut. Luckily I can see from the lists of cars of other members I'm in good company. Big Grin

I have a 1989 Doka which was converted to Syncro by Syncromad from Syncro Hospital. Besides a bit of bad luck with boxer engines, I have had only pleasure from my DC. Unfortunately I don't get enough chance to take him (Baksteen or Brick for the English members) offroad. I have recently done a 2.0l Golf engine conversion and had new shocks and a lift kit fitted. I am very happy with the results and it just needs some new boots to complete the package. Future plans are a aluminium canopy +roofrack. A rooftop tent of some sort is also in the planning.

Hope to meet a lot of you guys some time in the near future.

Dean how about organising a Syncro Saturday at Hennops or DeWildt?

Re: Introduce Yourself.
Hi from Alistair on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada.
I have an '86 syncro tin top, and I am in the process of fitting it out with my old '82 Westy camping gear. Looking forward to seeing pictures of syncros in the sun and dust as opposed to the cold rain and clouds over here Smile

Oh, and I agree, the jack does look badly set up in this pic of the van.
