October Wesbreek
Gerrit at Cederberg Oasis has tentatively got a Syncro booking for the communal campsite for Fri 30th Sept and Sat 1st Oct.
We did not have enough time to do the rock paintings and caves last weekend so the suggestion is to go up on the Friday night straight to Cederberg Oasis.
Saturday morning early, with the aid of a hand drawn Gerrit map, those that want to spend the day walking in the bossies and communing with ancient cultures in nature go do their rock art thing.
The people who want to commune with nature in a more modern cultural form have a few 4x4 trails in the immediate vicinity.
Then again it will be damn hot already in thar mountains so those that want to lie around the pool, sip on beverages and pile up heaps of food can just lounge at the campsite.
Sunday, those who want to go for an interesting drive take the Eselbank road, otherwise return back through Ceres or on the Algiers road.

Let us know who is interested so that we can let Gerrit know to hold the campsite for us and then we can peg down final arrangements closer to the time.

Re: October Wesbreek
Hello Stuart, my Westy is being used for work so I have full seats in it - but now I reckon is a good time to rebuild it back to a proper camper so I will be putting in some cupboards and stuff - but will have them on rails or clipped in so that it is a half hour job to take back to a people carrier.

About this October Wesbreek -
Guys it looks like we are going to start a sub group of this forum called the "Walkers or the Hikers" because it looks like this weekend of the 1st and 2nd October is going to be for the guys who want to pull in build fire and relax, and for the people who want to pull in - pull on a pair of hiking boots and go walk between the Bushman paintings.
There are 4 vehicles so far that will be going - please let me know asap if you would like to join us so that I can give Gerrit an indication of how many vehicles will be invading the Cederberg Oasis.
Also if you are going to want to drive one of the many trails in the area then let me know so that we can plan for it.
Chris.

Re: October Wesbreek
Ja I bought it with the top on, but I think it is original westfalia from all the other 'aftermarket' lids that I have seen.
Some phodies attached of my Westy - one of Peter Taylor sommer thrown in for good measure and a few bloometjie weekend photos with Harry and Leon as well.
