Bad planning on your part does not make your issue an crisis to me
Bad workmanship by other garages does not entiltle you to better rates at me
Syncro, syncro , syncro and more syncro, this is the syncro way of life

Bridgestone Fundi 2012
We broke the box in between obstacles driving up a hill to obstacle 4. The playbus really performed well up until it broke and cruised well in the highway getting there

Stuart I've got ure shirts and stickers for you

Bridgestone challenge was a bit of an improvement over last year so far from admin point of view but I still had to wait 2 hours to be recovered and then I was eventually recovered by a spectator driving past and never saw once the recovery vehicle that was meant to pull us back

Re: Bridgestone Fundi 2012
With running large agressive tires on hard stoney surfaces + bigger than standard engine you need to insure your gearbox is in 100% condition possibly rebuilding every 6
months to insure you dont destroy wot are becoming a rather rare part to find [ worldwide] . You can get new replacement CW and pinions but at +/- $ 1200.00 US plus
duties  . They are being made by weddle in Australia.

Are they making stock replacements or stronger?

Re: Bridgestone Fundi 2012
Dont want everyone to get shocked by my previous statement. The rebuild every 6 months is for the type of use the play bus will get. A lot of shock through CW.
The rebuild would also mainly be to check and replace anything suspect before it goes bang not replace everything every time. Reverse , 3rd and 4th gears will probably
get little use compared to the rest.

Re: Bridgestone Fundi 2012
Better luck next time Dean/Alan!
Fortunately you didn't break down in front of all the spectators!.....
Cw & P seems to be a weak point.
MAkes me worry since I often tow a fully laden beach buggy, and occasionally a big (3/4 ton) trailer. I think towing was discussed in another thread, maybe some type of shock absorber in the a-frame will soften the load? Anyone have any ideas as in "off the shelf" components that could be used / modified for this purpose?
What about better oils in the transmission (synthetic??)
E.

It's not just a 4x4, it's a Syncro........
