TDI with VNT.
Tdi instilation at 50 degrees. This is not quite complete in the photo. It is also using a hybrid mech pump with a home made control setup for a VNT turbo.
The VNT turbo is a fantastic setup to use. Instant boost, no lag.

Re: TDI with VNT.
Hi russel,
we are running a similar set up with a AFN motor, mechanuical pump and a custom made controler for the turbo, but we now have a 2.5 td turbo, a little larger, can the 50 degree sump fit the AFN, motor, it currently has an ali sump. never tried another sump. we have it in the 15 degree setup.

Re: TDI with VNT.
All the AFN engine i have come across here have steel sumps. Same sump bolt pattern as 1.6 TD 1.8 Petrol etc.
Is the vacuum pump on the block or the head.

Re: TDI with VNT.
I can get an AAZ 1.9 td for you, that is a straight bolt in other than make a front engine mount. they are the easiest to do and a lot cheaper than the AHF mod. the AAZ is a mechanical pump TD, you can add an intercoller if you need more power.

i had a 1.6td with an intercooler in a citi gold, it went like stink, could tow a syncro at 140km/h, and topped out at 190km/h, the i.9 is even stronger.
